What drew you to blockchain technology?
Well, I entered the world of blockchain tech in 2017. The crazy price action of that year was not the primary thing that got me excited. I was immediately attracted by the ideas of having complete control of my digital assets (“Your keys, etc…”), removing unnecessary middlemen (banks or other financial institutions), censorship resistance and stuff like that. This was something inconceivable within the confines of the “old financial world”.
Why did you choose Horizen?
Horizen has a special place within the list of projects I keep my eye on. I was attracted by the idea of preserving transactional privacy. I searched for projects that could provide P2P money transfers and made it hard or even impossible to reveal who sent how much and to whom.
Horizen (actually ZenCash back then) had and still has a strong focus on privacy (as the catchy slogan goes: “BRINGING PRIVACY TO LIFE”). This was very appealing to me. Another thing that got me excited was that the team was trying to build a whole ecosystem of products and services with privacy features in mind. Bi-weekly Live Updates were giving me the confidence that these guys were really walking the talk. So starting in 2017, I’ve been a fan of Horizen (and ZEN hodler too).
