The Verge Lumos Codebase release
Organization: Verge (Currency)
Date: 16th May 2019
We are stoked to present the largest technology upgrade ever performed by Verge Currency. We have released the new codebase, officially named as Verge Lumos for public usage and is therefore available and highly recommend to be used for everyday usage. After letting our users upgrade their wallets, we are going to contact exchanges and mining pools to also upgrade their services. This newly upgraded core will introduce new possibilities for Verge to move forward, extend its current feature set, while working with the highest security standard (based on bitcoins latest release).
Moving forward, we want to establish Verge not only as a currency but also as a leading blockchain technology. To further the cause, we have made a decision to first implement the standards that Bitcoin brings to our blockchain. These standards include:
1. High and reliable security
2. Blockchain maintainability
3. A common interface for companies to work with and adopt Verge.
Furthermore, with this new codebase, we have significantly improved the performance of certain tasks which has lead to a seamless experience for our users.
With the shift to the new codebase, we have enabled ourselves to have more applicable use cases like the fully-fledged iOS and Android apps and new wallets with updated designs for mobiles and desktops. Even the integration for possible POS systems is now more standardized as we moved to it.
Thank you to everyone who participated in either testing, technical writing, reviewing and discussing or improving. You, together with everyone else, made this very moment happen.
