The latest maintenance release introduces improvements in the UPnP/NAT-PMP, the noise protocol, syncing and state channels.
Last week we have decided to announce a maintenance release containing some important improvements to the UPnP/NAT-PMP implementation. We perceive this functionality as one of the major features of the æternity node since by simplifying the node setup process, we can significantly improve the connectivity of the æternity P2P network. With this in mind:
We strongly encourage node operators to update to version 1.4.0.

In addition, to the UPnP/NAT-PMP enhancements, release 1.4.0 improves the stability of the Noise-based connections used for syncing and gossiping blocks, as well as, enhances the stability of state channels.
